It has been doing so for the last 30 years and is approved by the Utah State Office of Education and meets core curriculum values.
PCAU offers training programs for:
- Child Abuse Prevention
- Bullying Prevention
- Internet Safety
- Healthy Relationships
- Shaken Baby Syndrome
- Faculty Training
- Parents as Teachers
One of the biggest pros to this organization is that they will not teach your children sex education. That is not what they are for. They are there to teach your children to recognize and deal with abuse. Today’s students face abuse in many forms including physical, emotional and sexual abuse, bullying, grooming, neglect and dating violence. Prevention programs teach educators, students and parents the importance of being aware and active in each other’s lives. Preventing and ending child abuse is everyone’s responsibility and is crucial to building a safe, healthy, and strong community.
If you watched the above video, the story is touching of the girls who realized that they were being abused in the home without knowing it was a problem. They believed that this was normal and assumed other kids were being treated the same way until PCAU came to talk to their class about abuse. Generally children are protected from being identified as abuse victims, however, these two girls begged PCAU to be in this video to make sure that other kids knew that if they are being abused, they are not alone. It is okay to step up and talk to someone about it and improve their situation.
PCAU is available to visit Utah schools and homes. If you think this would be a good fit for your class or children, give them a call or email them.
