I’m excited to let you guys know about this great volunteer opportunity we found out about. If you have been looking for an opportunity to serve or even better an opportunity for your teenagers to serve make sure you check it out.
Got Olympic fever? You can catch the SPECIAL OLYMPICS fever right here in Utah. Get off your couch and come volunteer! We KNOW you’ll be inspired. We need volunteers to help run our North Area Bocce competition on Saturday, August 27th at Discovery Park in Brigham City. You’ll see Special Olympics Utah athletes from the northern counties show off their skills and compete for gold in bocce.
This is a great volunteer opportunity for community, school, corporate, church or family groups. Ages 16 and older can volunteer independently, ages 12 – 15 may volunteer with an adult. Ages 11 and younger are welcome to attend with an adult and cheer as a Fan in the Stand. Morning and afternoon shifts available. Volunteers will help set-up bocce courts, keep score, serve as court officials and hand out awards. Don’t worry — you don’t need to be an expert in bocce (Italian lawn bowling). All training will be provided at the event.
