Cirque du Soleil OVO coming to Salt Lake City

Have you guys heard that Cirque du Soleil is coming to the Maverik Center in West Valley City. We got a little sneak peek at the new show OVO and it looks to be so fun. My kids are now so excited to see the “bug show” as they call it.

The show (the name of which means “egg” in Portuguese) takes place in a colorful ecosystem of insects, who are awestruck and curious when a mysterious egg appears among them. When a gawky insect arrives in the bug community, he catches the eye of a fabulous ladybug.  The show features all sorts of insects, fantastic dancing and acrobatics, and is even family friendly.

The cast of “OVO” features 50 acrobatic performers from 12 countries. Among the highlights is a flying act, in which a group of scarabs fly high over the stage.

Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Feb. 22-25, with a Saturday matinee at 4 p.m. Feb. 25, and two shows, 1:30 and 5 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 26.

And guess what we even have some discounts for you. You can either pick a family pack discount or a Valentine’s day discount.

Plus stay tuned because pretty soon we will be giving away a four-pack of tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show of OVO at Maverik Center on Thursday, February 23. We are so excited I hope you are too!
